Living on a farm in South East Saskatchewan has given me the opportunity to be in nature and to notice the shift in the wind and the changes in the landscape around me. The farming seasons are always front of mind and provide endless inspiration. Certain landmarks on the prairie jump out at me like a city on the distant horizon or the grain bins dotting the fields. Other images require a closer look like the first signs of new life growing in a pasture or the remains of last years crop in the soil as the new crop is seeded. I hope those who view my art can appreciate these small details that make up the bigger picture of our Saskatchewan landscape and feel the same connection to these things that I do.

I choose to paint landscape, agricultural and natural subjects and favor acrylic on canvas. My eye is drawn to details such as the textures of moss and bark, rust on metal or the organic matter embedded in the soil. I take photos of images that jump out at me and use them later for reference. My goal is to bring the viewers eye closer to something that might otherwise go unnoticed and to capture the feeling of the scene before me. 

I paint in a realistic style that I hope allows the viewer to feel the wind or smell the dirt in my painting!
